Hello friends! I’m so happy to be back here. I had the most incredible week as one of my best friends from college came to visit me. We haven’t seen each other in three years and she came all the way from Argentina! So, I needed to make sure she had a great time being here.
Today I will be sharing a few moments from our weekend, because it was one of the best weekends I’ve had in a long time!
Artisan doughnuts shops are so popular right now on Social Media that we needed to visit one. I’m not huge on doughnuts but The Salty Donut at Wynwood made me reconsider that standpoint.
The variety of doughnut they offer is quite particular, which made our selection process even more interesting.
What you see in the below picture is a maple glazed bacon doughnut, a lemon strawberry doughnut, and a traditional glazed. Maple bacon was indeed interesting. My favorite was the traditional glazed, because that dough tasted like heaven.
My sweet companions for this Saturday: Andrea (far right), Ana Claudia (my cousin in the middle) aka The Kiddo. And her boyfriend, Angel (the Kiddo #2) who was taking this picture.
Andrea is a big fan of art. So Wynwood and the Art District represented such a huge entertainment for her.
Where there’s art, there’s also political opinions around that I would normally disagree with. I thought it was funny to see this postcard about “Commercial Revolution” featuring a guy that wears a shirt from El Che Guevara.
Something that I do agree on…
But never forget to…
We kept walking around Wynwood Walls that day.
And kept taking pictures.
We actually took many pictures.
I love these kiddos so much.
Andrea and The Kiddo love coffee as much as I do. Besides the flavor, drinking coffee is a whole experience to us. So we made our stop at Panther Coffee to honor our tradition.
Three espresso Macchiatos and one toffee cookie to share between the four us.
On Sunday, Andrea and I got into one of our typical adventures: Flying a plane!
Well…we didn’t actually fly the plane. But we did go into one of these little planes on a high turbulence day, and took a short trip to see the coast.
You might think we’re pretty adventurous for doing this, but let me tell you that you have seen nothing. Once we drove a car with a gas leak for more than two hours. We smelled the gas but didn’t really acknowledge the problem until somebody told us. So, flying in a little plane with lots of turbulence was basically a piece of cake.
Plus, nothing like getting into these amazing adventures with your BFF!!
Besides the amazing view, being able to hear the control tower was my favorite part. I feel a weird fascination by planes and have always wondered how do they manage traffic in the air.
We would be eternally thankful to the pilot of this plane who enthusiastically took us on this short trip as a gift. By the way, I couldn’t have ever done this without Andrea. I’m going to miss her so much when she gets back home.
Have you ever gotten into an amazing adventure with your best friend?
Which kind of doughnuts do you usually get? Would try a maple-glazed bacon doughnut?
