Hello friends! As every Monday, hope you’ve all had a wonderful weekend.
My weekend right here has been pretty much for relax and rest. I can say last week was a good week of training as I made it trough 5 days of running. That is pretty good considering I’ve been running only during the weekends for the past two months. My mileage is still pretty low because my main goal is to rebuild my base.
I know I have mentioned this before, but this year has not been very kind to my running schedule. Gut problems, running injury, and the end of my dual graduate program meant a lot of time off from running. Therefore, this week has felt pretty darn good. I’ve even remembered things that I forgot about being very active with running, like feeling that fatigue on your legs and being really hungry (or should I say rungry?) all-the-freaking-time. After weeks questioning If I was still a runner, now I can say that I feel like one again, yay!
My cousin celebrated her birthday on Friday night with Lebanese food, one of my absolute favorites. I took a bite from that piece of bread before this picture was taken.
Saturday night was UFC’s fight night. Boyfriend invited some friends over to watch the fight and so he planned to grill something for dinner. By noon we headed the Farmers Market to get everything we needed for dinner that night.
A few hours (and a cup of coffee) later I went out for a three mile run. It was extremely hot and sunny that day here in South Florida. However, I still decided to go out because: 1. I think is good to moderately expose yourself to those hard conditions. And 2. Because I needed to hit my mileage goal for the week. This picture says it all, coffee socks and uneven tan in my legs due to regular use of compressions #RunnerProblems.
I did go out in long sleeves and my big non-running sunglasses because I refused to get sun burns on my arms/shoulders and face. Yup, I look like a total rookie… Wait, I’m still one for long distance races.
After I came back, I was ready for dinner. Sausages, grilled peppers and onions were the main course. Simple and delicious.
I hope you all have a great start of the week!
