Happy 4th of July!
Today we celebrated with lots of friends and a MASSIVE bbq at my boyfriend’s house.
I knew we were going to have a very busy day and therefore decided to do my run in the morning. I didn’t have access to a treadmill and figured a hot run would be better than nothing. So I did the unthinkable… I went out for a run outside at 87 degrees and 70 something % of humidity.
The first mile felt easy. I thought it was because of the strength training I did the day before. By the second mile I started pushing myself a little bit more because it was incredibly hot. The last mile was just simply a mental work. Three miles in total that ended up feeling TOUGH. But nothing like the sense of accomplishment after feeling like you overcame weather adversities;)
4th of July Preparations started quickly after I came back from my run and our friends started to come over faster that I could think of.
What you see in this picture are beef burgers and corns wrapped in thin foil. We also had hot dogs and chicken wings.
My plate was a bunch of deliciousness. I added some mango on a side because I was craving fruit. I’ve been craving a lot of fruit lately.
A few hours after everyone finished eating, boyfriend took out this pork loin out of the oven. Yup… that was one of those days were you just simply didn’t stop eating.
The afternoon came to an end and we ended up watching the fireworks from the car. Even though we didn’t plan for this, I gotta say this was way more comfortable than being outside eating by mosquitos. Hey, you gotta look at the positive side about everything.
Hope you’ve had a wonderful 4th of July with your friends and family;)
